I painted this plein air watercolor on-site at Towering Rocks Farm, located in Tohickon, PA, in the summer of 2007. I was with a group of artists led by Ed Letven (link).
I was born in Kosciusko MS (Opra's birth place) in 1925. I always loved to sketch and paint. Perhaps my father realized I had some potential talent, because on my fifth birthday he gave me a watercolor set. When I was seventeen, my family moved to Mobile, Alabama and I went to work at the Air force base as a "keypunch operator", what now referred to as data entry. My next fifty years were spent in the computer field as an analyst for various companies. I was married in 1950 and had three children. I attended a night program for art at a satellite facility of Univ. of Alabama in Mobile, AL for two semesters, working with oils. My employment and family kept me busy until I retired in 1991. I now attend classes by Doylestown PA Art League. Painting is my favorite pastime and I love the qualities of watercolors.
